Dr Kate McCullough
General Practitioner
Dr Kate McCullough is a Specialist General Practitioner and Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners. Having grown up on the South Coast, she returned to commence her general practice career after completing medical school at the University of Sydney and hospital training at St George and Sutherland Hospitals. She was a registered nurse prior to completing medical school, and it was during a nursing placement split between the children’s ward and obstetrics that she found her calling in looking after families. As a university student, she spent four summers working at a children’s camp in the US and gained significant experience in working with children and families. Now having two kids of her own, she is especially passionate about supporting new mums to thrive.
She offers the full spectrum of 'cradle to grave' general practice care, with a special focus on women’s health, perinatal care, paediatrics, breastfeeding support, infant sleep, and parental mental health. She is an accredited practitioner in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (the Possums programs - ndcinstitute.com.au) and has completed a Graduate Certificate in Child Health. She provides antenatal shared care with Wollongong Hospital.

Medical Termination of Pregnancy
Decisions about continuing a pregnancy are personal and vary for each individual.
We provide compassionate, confidential Medical Termination of Pregnancy care in a safe and non-judgemental environment. Appointments are unhurried and centre on your physical wellbeing, emotional needs and informed choice.
You will be supported by an experienced GP, with clear information, personalised care, and tailored follow up.

Lactation Support (NDC)
A breastfeeding appointment provides comprehensive, evidence-based support for feeding challenges in the early months and beyond. As both a GP with additional training in lactation support, I can assess medical, physical, and emotional factors that may be affecting feeding — such as nipple pain, low supply, mastitis, or unsettled babies.
Appointments often include observation of a feed, assessment for tongue tie, discussion of positioning and attachment, and a tailored plan that fits your family’s needs. Where appropriate, I can also prescribe medications, arrange investigations, and perform a tongue tie release.
My goal is to support you and your baby to feed comfortably and confidently, whatever that looks like for your family.
Deeper Support Consults
For when early parenthood feels harder than expected
These sessions offer space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening - whether that’s challenges with feeding, unsettled sleep, or emotional overwhelm. Together we look beneath the surface, exploring both practical strategies and the deeper patterns that might be adding stress. Grounded the possums/NDC approach, these consults support you to feel calm, confident, and reconnected with your baby.
Sleep Support Consults
A sleep coaching consultation is a gentle, supportive space to explore your child’s sleep and find ways to bring more rest and ease to your family.
Appointments run for about an hour and are led by a GP trained in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) and/or the Holistic Sleep Coaching approach. Together, we look at the bigger picture — your child’s sleep patterns, feeding, temperament, and emotional needs, as well as what’s happening for you as a parent.
Rather than using rigid routines or separation-based methods, we work on understanding your child’s natural sleep biology and supporting responsive, realistic strategies that fit your family’s values and stage of life.
The aim is to help you feel confident, connected, and supported — with practical ideas to make nights (and days) a little easier for everyone.
