Dr Hayley Glasson
Perinatal General Practitioner

From an early age, Dr Hayley Glasson cared for mums and bubs of the animal variety on her family’s property outside Orange, NSW. Her passion for caring for others eventually led her to study medicine, graduating from the University of New South Wales with Second Class Honours (Division 1) in 2008.
She discovered her love for General Practice early in her training, with a particular focus on women’s and children’s health. She completed a Diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) while working at St George Hospital, and a Diploma of Child Health (DCH) through the University of Sydney. In 2014, she became a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP), gaining broad experience across practices in the Northern Rivers and Sydney regions.
The Illawarra has always held a special place in her heart, with fond memories of childhood holidays visiting her grandparents in Kiama Downs. After relocating from Sydney’s Inner West in 2015, she began practicing in Kiama, caring for many women through the Antenatal Shared Care Program at Wollongong Hospital. She joined the Bulli Medical Practice team in 2020.
Since 2022, she has been offering Possums/Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) consultations through Bulli Medical Practice, and from 2024–2025 through Amelie Private. Her consults support families through all stages of the perinatal journey — from preparing expectant parents, to early breastfeeding support, infant sleep troubleshooting, and perinatal mental health counselling.
She is passionate about the importance of secure infant attachment and its lifelong impact on mental health. She is equally interested in the concept of re-parenting — helping parents nurture themselves as they nurture their children.
Now raising two young daughters with her husband in the beautiful Northern Illawarra, she brings both clinical expertise and lived experience to her work with families.

Lactation Support (NDC)
A breastfeeding appointment provides comprehensive, evidence-based support for feeding challenges in the early months and beyond. As both a GP with additional training in lactation support, I can assess medical, physical, and emotional factors that may be affecting feeding — such as nipple pain, low supply, mastitis, or unsettled babies.
Appointments often include observation of a feed, assessment for tongue tie, discussion of positioning and attachment, and a tailored plan that fits your family’s needs. Where appropriate, I can also prescribe medications, arrange investigations, and perform a tongue tie release.
My goal is to support you and your baby to feed comfortably and confidently, whatever that looks like for your family.

Deeper Support Consults
For when early parenthood feels harder than expected
These sessions offer space to pause, reflect, and make sense of what’s happening - whether that’s challenges with feeding, unsettled sleep, or emotional overwhelm. Together we look beneath the surface, exploring both practical strategies and the deeper patterns that might be adding stress. Grounded the possums/NDC approach, these consults support you to feel calm, confident, and reconnected with your baby.

Sleep Support Consults
A sleep coaching consultation is a gentle, supportive space to explore your child’s sleep and find ways to bring more rest and ease to your family.
Appointments run for about an hour and are led by a GP trained in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC) and/or the Holistic Sleep Coaching approach. Together, we look at the bigger picture — your child’s sleep patterns, feeding, temperament, and emotional needs, as well as what’s happening for you as a parent.
Rather than using rigid routines or separation-based methods, we work on understanding your child’s natural sleep biology and supporting responsive, realistic strategies that fit your family’s values and stage of life.
The aim is to help you feel confident, connected, and supported — with practical ideas to make nights (and days) a little easier for everyone.
